Character Archtypes

There are nine core character archtypes of Tyra Tarkush. Each has its own meaning and the sounds of the language belong to one of the archtypes. The archtypes are:

• The Gaze: Piercing, constant, and strong in its own way. The Gaze is used for vowels. It is a constant part of the language as su ch.
• The Omen: Ominous and ‘negative’. Portending of a negative end, but not necessarily negative on its own. C/K sounds and a hard ‘q’.
• The Grasp: Seeking power, aspiration, exertion of will. D/J/G sounds.
• The Sun: Power/fateful/lonely. The Sun is connected to ‘Ra’. Powerful, blazing, independent, but also in that way, lonely. R/L sounds.
• The Wonder: Fateful, mysterious, and somewhat abstract. V/W/F sounds.
• The Monarch: Nobility, order, respect. The Monarch’s sound of ‘mu’ is used to mean the ‘greatest’ of something. Me/ma/mu sounds.
• The Break: Imperfections of creation and positive entropy—however, it can be read as negative in that same sense. Very context based. B/P sounds.
• The Tree: Knowledge, wisdom, magical mystery. TS/TZ/XE/XI/TA/TE/SH/SZ and ’n’ sounds.
• The Pillar: Strength and base prosperity. YA/YE/Q sounds.

Word Order

The grammar is, at its simplest, verb-subject-object. Adjectives follow what they describe. There is also the concept of ‘flanking’ words and phrases. Flanking words surround the entire sentence.

For a rough example of Tyra Tarkush’s grammar:

“Despite the rain, he went to the crowded store.”

“Despite the rain” could be a flanking phrase, and Tyra Tarkush grammar-ified, it would look something like this:

“Despite the rain, went to he the store crowded, despite the rain.”

Questions have ‘ishramel’ as a flanking word and ‘si’ as the ‘unknown’ being questioned but can also be a placeholder.

Gender

The language is non-gendered and has no concept of gender.
